  • Before the pandemic, Ayomari worked as Garde manger at a vegetarian/vegan restaurant named Elf Cafe located in Echo Park, under head chef Imaad Wasif. Although he no longer works in the kitchen, he still cooks at home daily. He's obsessed with food-themed films and has watched Chocolat to Soul Food multiple times.

Ayomari's professional writer/journalist career in the food space is fairly new, yet he's had a lifelong love for all forms of writing, beginning with his own short stories and comic books as a child. The topics he enjoys writing about range from trending food news, to food industry policy, food-related tech/futurism, fashion, and history. Since being given the opportunity to be a contributing writer, he's committed to learning and growing more in the world of journalism. Ayomari has been a professional food writer/journalist for nearly four years, and has been a contributing writer for food and drink publications Foodbeast and Thrillist. He's written extensively about the Black-owned restaurants of Los Angeles' historic Leimert Park area for Thrillist.
