Alicia has been writing professionally for about a decade. She started out writing for NGOs, academic projects, and think tanks. Gradually, she moved into the journalism space with a focus on travel, food, culture, and sustainability, and the point at which they all converge. Alicia's work has appeared in publications like BBC Travel's World Table, Conde Nast Traveler, World Nomads, Fodor's Travel, and Seattle Times. She believes food is a celebration of culture and nature and loves learning about new places through the lens of culinary traditions. Alicia is constantly traveling to deepen her understanding of the world and its incredible cuisines. From Nowruz feasts in the mountains of Kurdistan to Diwali celebrations in Jaipur, Alicia's quest for a good meal and memorable adventure inspires the stories she tells.

Education

Alicia has a B.A. in international studies and human rights from the University of Washington and an MSc in comparative politics and conflict from the London School of Economics.
