Self-taught chef Katie Button made the rounds at some of the world's most celebrated restaurants—elBulli in Spain, Jean-Georges in New York City and Minibar in Washington, D.C.—before landing in Asheville to open Cúrate. The menu reflects Button's time in Spain: almendras fritas (fried marcona almonds with sea salt), pincho moruno (lamb skewers with Moorish spices) and perhaps Button's most well-known dish, berenjenas la taberna (fried eggplant with honey and rosemary). The crew has also expanded next door with Nightbell, a cocktail bar serving reinterpreted American bar snacks. On Tuesdays, Button cooks a $48 five-course prix fixe tasting menu there with an optional wine or cocktail pairing.
