Costco wouldn't be itself without its food court and all the classic offerings that customers have come to love, from the chicken bake to the hot dog combo. Some of the best Costco food court items are the ones that have been around for ages, but the chain also releases new dishes now and again to make sure shoppers don't get bored. 2026 has brought some fresh offerings to warehouses across America and we've compiled a full list of new food court items — a few of which you can still order, if you haven't tried them yet.

So far, the Costco food court's theme of the year is definitely ice cream. The chain has dropped several limited-time sundaes loaded with fun toppings as well as some exciting soft serve flavors besides the classic chocolate and vanilla. It almost feels like the food court has been transformed into a fancy frozen treat parlor, and Costco isn't stopping yet. As of this writing, the company has just released a new fall-themed sundae that sweets-loving shoppers won't want to miss.

Besides all those sundaes, Costco has put out a few other food court additions, and among the fan favorites there are also a few flops. However, tastiness is in the eye of the beholder, and you may still want to try certain items even if they aren't the most popular.

Apple Pie Sundae

As of October 2026, a brand new, wonderfully autumnal Apple Pie Sundae has hit the Costco food court. This treat combines the chain's vanilla soft serve with cinnamon apples and pie crust, and customers are smitten with the apple pie a la mode flavor, with one Redditor saying, "Easily best one so far." Since this sundae is a seasonal offering, you should grab one for $2.99 before fall ends.

Mixed Berry Smoothie

Costco used to sell a fruit smoothie which we thought wasn't worth ordering. It had a faint flavor and overly liquidy texture. The drink is sort of getting a second chance at life as a similar but differently-named Mixed Berry Smoothie has dropped at the food court as of October 2026. While not many reviews are in yet, early feedback has been positive, so we'll see if this $2.99 offering redeems Costco as a smoothie seller.

Strawberry Shortcake Sundae

Back in June, Costco's food court debuted a pretty-in-pink, limited-edition Strawberry Shortcake Sundae that customers fell in love with. We thought this Costco sundae was more strawberry than shortcake, but it was undoubtedly delicious with its rich strawberry soft serve, sweet berry topping, and shortcake pieces. The new Apple Pie Sundae is slowly replacing this berrylicious treat, but apparently some Costcos are still selling the strawberry sundae. If you see it, don't hesitate to try it before it vanishes.

Chicken strips

Costco's $6.99 chicken strips debuted in July and are the only new savory food court item released this year so far. While it's hard to go wrong with such a simple dish, these tenders have received a mixed reception overall. When we tried Costco's chicken strips, we were more than satisfied by the quality of the meat and breading as well as the zesty dipping sauce. The dish has plenty of other fans, but several critics thought the strips were dry and overly salty, so your mileage may vary.

Twisted Churro

This past September, Costco brought back a departed food court treat, but fans weren't exactly excited. The foot-long, cinnamon sugar-dusted Twisted Churro has arrived, but many customers have instead been longing for the food court's original, straight-shaped churro which was discontinued during the pandemic. The Twisted Churro has its defenders, but many customers find it dry and flavorless, with one Redditor saying, "Truthfully, a sorry excuse for a churro." This seems to be one of the most disappointing new food court additions of the year.

Double Chocolate Mint Sundae

Alongside the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, Costco's limited-time Double Chocolate Mint Sundae was one of its best-loved ice cream releases of 2026. With mint-flavored soft serve, crumbled chocolate cookies, and chocolate sauce; the food court treat was a mint lover's dream with a great balance of flavors and textures that shoppers adored. This sundae has since left Costco's menu, though we hope it will return in the future to satisfy chocolate mint devotees once again.

Caramel Churro Sundae

The Twisted Churro isn't Costco's only churro-centric food court release this year, and the Caramel Churro Sundae from April was slightly better received. The treat topped off Costco's soft serve with salted caramel sauce and churro chunks. The topping earned criticism for not really tasting like a churro and the sundae was too sweet for some, but the strong cinnamon sugar flavor won over some customers in the end. This sundae has ended its limited-time run.

Vanilla Cookie Crunch Sundae

In July, Costco's food court got another new sundae that shoppers couldn't wait to try, the Vanilla Cookie Crunch Sundae. A simpler offering, it combined vanilla soft serve with plenty of chocolate sauce and some Oreo-style cookie crumbles. While too basic for some shoppers to get excited about, this sundae was still a tasty treat worth ordering during its limited run, especially for cookies and cream fanatics. If it returns in the future, maybe Costco will dress it up a little more.
