Any trip to the beach requires a few essentials: beach chair, sunscreen, towel, fully stocked cooler and, most important of all, snacks. The following portable, sand-friendly snacks are just what you need to stay fueled while catching serious rays.

From popcorn to dried fruit, skip the concession stands and try one of these options instead.

① Organic Dill Pickle Popcorn from G.H. Cretors

We can't say no to anything pickle flavored, which is why this snack will be in our beach bag all summer long. Bursting with dill pickle flavor with a dash of real dill weed and sea salt, it's the perfect way to get your pickle fix without dealing with a leftover glass jar full of pickle juice.

② Spicy Soy Ginger Jícama Chips from JicaChips

Swap that greasy bag of potato chips for these crispy jícama chips instead. The fresh ginger provides just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming, and each bag is only 100 calories, so you don't have to feel guilty when you finish the whole thing.

Thanks for the #jicachips @wellnessandgoodness! They were delicious!

③ Cinnamon Churro Marshmallows from SmashMallow

For a sweet treat at the beach, pack these lightweight snackable marshmallows. And when those beach days turn into beach nights, sandwich them together between two graham crackers and your favorite chocolate.

④ Coconut Sticky Rice Chips from Dang Foods

Transport yourself to paradise with these coconut rice chips. With 30 to 40 percent less fat compared to regular potato chips, you can feel good about what you're snacking on.

 Sea Salt Chickpeas from Biena

Craving something salty? These crunchy baked chickpeas with a hint of sea salt will hit the spot. They are available in both large and small grab-and-go bags, making them easy to store.

⑥ Organic Dried Pineapple from Mavuno Harvest

Just because you're not sipping a piña colada on the beach doesn't mean you can't enjoy the delicious taste of pineapple. These dried pieces are 100 percent organic and provide just the right amount of sweetness.

⑦ Asian Pear & Ginger Canned Kombucha from Wonder Drink

From wine to cocktails, cans are everywhere this summer, and that includes your favorite sparkling fermented tea, too. These will keep you refreshed and hydrated throughout the day, so stock enough to last all day in the old cooler.

Kombucha you can order online unrefrigerated? Hmm... But them flavors though. Asian Pear & Ginger and Green Tea & Lemon got me. Also the fact that this is the only (semi-)reasonably priced kombucha I can seem to get my hands on in Japan. Which bothers me because while the exact history of kombucha is unclear, Japan DEFINITELY played a huge role. ⛩ The nomenclature is Japanese - 'cha' means tea, and 'kombu' is either the name of a physician who allegedly imported it to Japan in the 5th century OR a misunderstanding of the Japanese word kombu, which is the kelp used to make dashi and so on. In Japanese, the name for what we call kombucha is 'koucha kinoko' - mushroom tea. It's actually a colony of bacteria and yeast, not a mushroom, but I've seen the culture called 'fungus japonicus' before. So WHY am I having such a hard time finding it here!! This should be the motherland! I guess it's not a popular mainstream drink the way it is in America now. I hope that changes soon. Because while this stuff pictured here was good, I can't say anything about its effectiveness yet. It's pasteurized and comes from Amazon unrefrigerated, and it's $4 per small can. I miss the selection of dozens of big glass bottles in the refrigerated section of every shop in LA! Basic bitch health nerd first world problem, I know. @wonderdrink: Want to collaborate so we can increase the demand for kombucha here in Japan? Please, I'm on Team Booch
