Trader Joe's New Almond Butter Chocolate Pretzels Have Fans Swooning

If you were a fan of the almond butter pretzel nuggets that Trader Joe's came out with in 2021, the grocery store chain's new dark chocolate covered version is bound to take your snacktime to the next level. Judging by the product packaging shared by Instagram fan account TraderJoesList, these salty-sweet treats are a lot like the OG, with one small, but major, difference: chocolate.

Each crunchy pretzel nugget is filled with creamy almond butter much like the product Trader Joe's fans know and love, but to top it all off (literally), it's coated in a layer of rich dark chocolate. Every bite treats fans to the blend of sweet and salty flavors and textures, and it's one of the reasons customers are already raving about the new product.

It's similarity to the classic combo of chocolate and peanut butter is an obvious part of the appeal, however, commenters on the Instagram post also pointed out that it's not a safe alternative for those with peanut allergies. Peanuts aren't listed in the ingredients on the label, however, it does explicitly state "May contain peanut." Presumably, this is because the product is made in the same factory or using the same machinery.

How much do Trader Joe's dark chocolate almond butter pretzels cost?

At Trader Joe's you always get what you pay for in terms of ingredients and quality, and these chocolate covered pretzel nuggets are no different. According to Instagram user TraderJoesAficionado, who spotted the new product at a Trader Joe's in Santa Ana, California, a single eight-ounce bag costs $3.49. For about the same price, you could also get the plain almond butter nuggets in a slightly larger 12-ounce bag. But while you may be getting less nuggets altogether, you're getting the addition of dark chocolate, so it's probably a fair trade.

Based on how excited Instagrammers are to try the new Trader Joe's product, it's safe to assume the dark chocolate covered almond butter filled pretzel nuggets will be popular at your local store. Fortunately, if you're unable to get your hands on a bag (as is the case with many fan favorite TJ's items) the dark chocolate almond butter pretzels are already being resold on eBay. Considering customers are loving it so much the new product is already being scalped and resold at a markup, you know it is probably pretty tasty.
