Review: Crumbl's Scoopable Cookie Dough Is A Bowl Of Half-Baked Heaven
When Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley founded Crumbl in 2017, they did so with the determination of baking up the perfect cookie. Since those humble Utah beginnings, the chain has spread across the country, each week releasing a new menu, coupled with a few classic flavors. Sometimes, the weeks are themed (like the Martha Stewart menu from November 2025), and frequently, there will be a new dessert in the mix. For the first week of November 2026, Crumbl introduced a whole new variety of cookie: scoopable cookie dough. I tried it the very first day it was available in stores to see if it's something you need to add to your Crumbl order for the week.
Having seen the news about the popular cookie chain struggling in 2026, going even so far as to begin closing stores, I am impressed that Crumbl continues to innovate. This cookie dough was certainly different from its typical offerings. Like some other desserts, this one is served warm and dished up in little rectangular containers with a swirl of vanilla bean mousse. As the name suggests, you'll definitely want a fork or spoon for this cookie-esque offering.
Methodology
To see if this scoopable cookie dough is worth your time, I headed out to my closest Crumbl location and placed my order for the scoopable cookie dough and one of the chain's dirty sodas. I brought this large dessert home and shared it with my husband. My assessment on whether you should give the cookie dough a try was based on the flavor and texture of the dessert.
With something like cookie dough, texture plays a large role in whether the dessert will live up to its claims. I was looking for dessert that was chunky, but not crumbly. It needed to remind me of, well, cookie dough. For taste, since it claimed itself to be cookie dough, I was looking for that familiar chocolate chip cookie flavor.
Scoopable cookie dough taste test
The scoopable cookie dough is served up warm. There was a little bit of traffic on my way home, so I was concerned my treat might cool too much by the time I dug into it. Despite my delay, it remained warm. Perhaps even more impressive, the vanilla bean mousse placed alongside the cookie dough scoop didn't melt like you may expect ice cream to do.
I expected the cookie dough to be akin to the mixture you might sneak out of your mixing bowl. Instead, it was more like a half (or maybe even quarter) of baked cookie. It was doughy, soft, with some crunchier bits. Not to mention, it was plenty easy to get a spoon or fork through. Texture-wise, the new scoopable cookie dough from Crumbl was closer to a mushy, fudgy brownie, rather than tasting as a prepared cookie dough does right before you scoop it onto the pan. Expectedly, the taste is like that of a chocolate chip cookie. I even preferred this chocolate chip flavor over the chain's typical chocolate chip cookie form.
Final thoughts
If you like gooey cookies straight from the oven that are even slightly undercooked, you're going to love Crumbl's newest innovation. I was expecting it to be a little different than the warm treat that it was, but the temperature was a pleasant surprise. The typical Crumbl cookie is a very moist, rich, and sweet treat. This dessert offered a different textural experience, and I absolutely loved it. Plus, since you're going to eat it with a spoon or fork, it feels a little more decadent than the typical Crumbl cookie experience. This dessert definitely lived up to (and even surpassed) the hype of the chain's cookies and should join the collection of Crumbl desserts you'll wish for year-round.
I love warm desserts and will forever be one who prefers sticky-soft cookies, so this was an absolute win for me. With the side of vanilla bean mousse, you get to decide just how much sweeter you want your cookie to be. The pairing was a delight. With the news of more Crumbl locations closing, the chain isn't taking anything lying down and continues to innovate in the kitchen.
Price and availability
You'll be able to grab scoopable cookie dough from November 2-8, 2026. Though many cookies reappear throughout the year, there's no guarantee of when that will happen, so if the scoopable cookie dough sounds like your perfect treat, stopping in before November 8 will be your best bet.
Unlike other cookies that come in large or mini dessert sizes, you'll only be able to purchase this one as part of a large dessert lineup. I purchased mine at a location in central Florida, as a single large dessert for $4.69. I was impressed that there was no upcharge for the cookie as it's a rather large helping. You can also add scoopable cookie dough to orders in increments of four, six, and twelve large desserts at $17.49, $24.29, and $46.49, respectively.
