You can find protein-enhanced ice cream pints in a grocery aisle near you, and we sent one of our tasters out to see which brand was the best. They tried the classics — like the popular brands Halo Top and Yasso frozen yogurt pints — but found that another brand curried even more favor: the aptly named Protein Pints. 

Our taster tried three of its flavors — Cookie Dough, Cookies & Cream, and Fudge Brownie — and found that they all mimicked the mouthfeel and flavor of classic ice cream, all while offering a protein boost. "With its stellar flavors, impeccable textures, and impressive protein content, Protein Pints pretty easily took the top spot on this list," our reviewer said. While other brands had tangy flavors, like Yasso, or lacked as much protein as other brands (cough, cough Halo Top), Protein Pints had everything our taster wanted and more. 

If you're looking for a high-protein snack that doubles as dessert, these Protein Pints certainly fit the bill — and you shouldn't just take our word for it. Online reviewers say these pints are the real deal and offer a creamy texture, rather than any artificial sweetener aftertaste. "This is incredible," one Target shopper said. "It tastes like full sugar dark chocolate ice cream. It's creamy, it's sweet but not too sweet. I'm so delighted. I need to stock up on this."

Other users on Reddit had positive things to say about this brand as well. "As far as protein ice cream go these are number one for me," one Redditor said. Another on the same thread noted, "Cookie dough is a [staple] in my household. Probably go through a pint every few days." It's worth noting that Protein Pints are not available at all grocery stores, though major hitters like Albertsons, Kroger, Target, and H-E-B carry them.
