8 Best High-Fiber Finds At Walmart

Fiber is an important nutrient that doesn't always get the credit it deserves. It's necessary for normal bowel function, helps you feel full, and can even lower your risk of some diseases, like diabetes and cancer. Depending on your age and sex, it is recommended to eat anywhere between 21 and 38 grams of fiber per day.

While fiber can be found in many legumes, grains, fruits, and veggies, we could sometimes use a little extra help in achieving our daily fiber goals. Thankfully, many brands have responded to the increased awareness of fiber's importance by intentionally crafting products that contain more of this nutrient. And you don't even have to look far to find these products. Instead of making a trip to some specialty grocery store, Walmart, like Trader Joe's and other grocery chains, has an abundance of high-fiber items that you can pick up during your next grocery haul.

To give you some ideas of the high-fiber finds at Walmart worth buying, we selected items that contained at least 5 grams of fiber per serving, as this is what typically classifies a food as "high-fiber." Then we went straight to the reviews to see which items shoppers thought were delicious and accessible, while also being fiber-dense.

Kashi Gut Health Granola

Granola is a fiber-lover's superfood. Kashi's Gut Health Granola is made with naturally fiber-rich ingredients like oats and nuts and takes things a step further by adding 5 extra grams of chicory root fiber — bringing the total fiber to 9 grams per ⅔-cup serving. You can choose between Blueberry Almond and Chocolate Almond Butter flavors at your local Walmart. It's affordably priced and has a history of being selected for Rollback discounts.

What makes this granola even better for your gut is the Bacillus subtilis DE111 probiotic cultures added to every bag. This helps to ensure you are getting both prebiotics and probiotics for more well-rounded gut support. They work in tandem to maintain a healthy gut; probiotics introduce new, beneficial bacteria into your gut, and prebiotics support the multiplication of that beneficial bacteria. Unlike a lot of other granolas on the market, reviewers specifically appreciate that this granola doesn't just taste good but also contains these helpful compounds.

Olipop

Soda is having its moment — but not just any soda. In recent years, the number of "better-for-you" soda brands has exploded. Brands like Poppi, Bloom Pop, Culture Pop, and more have redefined soda as we know it and turned it into a functional beverage. But Olipop was one of the OGs (it was launched in 2018) and continues to be one of the most popular soda alternatives on the market. It also has a pretty high fiber count, at 6 to 9 grams per 12-ounce can, which mainly comes from the addition of chicory inulin and cassava root fiber.

Its lineup consists of familiar flavors like Classic Root Beer, Vintage Cola, Classic Grape, and Cream Soda, as well as more innovative flavors like Crisp Apple and Strawberry Vanilla. Walmart makes it even easier to sip your way toward your daily fiber goals by offering various Olipop flavors in the refrigerated section so you can quickly grab a single can whenever the mood strikes.

Brami Protein Pasta

While it is easy to get more fiber into your diet by eating more vegetables like Brussels sprouts and broccoli, it's not always realistic or appealing. Sometimes, the only thing that really sounds good is a giant bowl of pasta. Now you can have your protein and your fiber, too, with Brami Protein Pasta. Not only is this pasta packed with 21 grams of protein, it also has a whopping 9 grams of fiber per 3.5-ounce serving (which is three times more fiber than traditional pasta). This is thanks to the lupini — a fiber-rich superfood — included in the recipe.

This pasta has a high star rating and many reviews, and customers are quick to say that it actually tastes good. Walmart reviewers state that both the texture and taste are more aligned with traditional pasta than other "healthier" alternatives tend to be. People also love that, since it is more nutrient-dense than traditional pasta, they feel fuller after eating. We'd call that a win-win.

Mission Carb Balance Tortillas

Mission's Carb Balance tortillas are considered a Walmart best seller, meaning they're clearly popular with customers. In order for an item to be classified as such, it has to have both consistently high sales and numerous positive reviews. Specifically, people love that the price of these tortillas is lower at Walmart than at other stores, and that they taste very similar to traditional flour tortillas. Many people also rave about the flavor, texture, and versatility of these wraps, making them an excellent fit regardless of your fiber- or carb-intake goals.

With a surprisingly high fiber content of 11 grams per tortilla, one serving is more than enough to make a big dent in your daily fiber goals. Its high star rating and marketing as being both GLP-1 and keto-friendly may make you want to add them to your cart.

Smartfood Fiberpop

If you're trying to up your fiber intake, you may be surprised to learn that popcorn is on the list of great fiber-rich snacks. In fact, 1 cup of plain, air-popped popcorn (which is easy to eat in one sitting) has approximately 1.15 grams of fiber.

Smartfood has taken it to the next level with its Fiberpop popcorn. Just one serving of 1½ cups contains 6 grams of fiber. To achieve this, Fiberpop adds soluble corn fiber to the mix. Choose between flavors like Sweet and Salty or Toffee and Sea Salt, both of which are popular among reviewers for their balance of salty and sweet flavors. On its product website, multiple reviewers have begged the brand to come out with larger bags because they go through them that quickly.

Oats Overnight Shake

Protein shakes aren't necessarily known to taste good and are often accompanied by a distinct aftertaste and chalky texture. But when transformed into the form of overnight oats, protein shakes have even more appeal. Oats Overnight combines a protein shake and overnight oats and turns it into a low-prep breakfast option.

These ready-to-make overnight oats only require you to fill the bottle with water, milk, or a milk alternative and place it in the fridge overnight. When you wake up, you have a delicious and filling shake that contains between 5 and 7 grams of fiber. It is even high in protein, with 15 grams per 61-gram serving.

Oats Overnight comes in indulgent flavors like Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Apple Cinnamon, so you aren't trading taste for nutrition or convenience. It really seems like you can have it all.

KIND Nut Bars

Granola can help you meet your daily fiber intake because it's usually packed with high-fiber ingredients like oats, nuts, and seeds. KIND Nut Bars are no exception. These popular granola bars have a surprisingly high fiber content and come in flavors like Dark Chocolate Nuts and Sea Salt (7 grams of fiber per bar), Caramel Almond and Sea Salt (7 grams of fiber per bar), and Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew (6 grams of fiber per bar). The bars are also made without gluten, as, unlike other granola bars, they don't contain any oats (which are sometimes not gluten-free).

My personal favorite is the Dark Chocolate Nuts and Sea Salt. This decadent bar is coated and drizzled with chocolate, making it feel like I'm eating something a bit more indulgent than just a granola bar. It may not exactly taste like a Snickers, but it will still help curb your sweet tooth.

Banza White Cheddar Shells

Mac and cheese isn't typically known for its fiber. But Banza wants you to enjoy this classic comfort food more often. Its White Cheddar Shells have 5 grams of fiber per 1-cup prepared serving — three times more than other mac and cheese brands.

The pasta is made from high-fiber chickpeas, which boosts its protein to approximately 18 grams per serving. It's also gluten-free. Even though the fiber content is the reason I included it on this list, customers appreciate that they can use it to get a fair amount of protein in with their meal.

While some reviewers noted that it is priced higher than other boxed mac and cheese brands at Walmart, this is one gluten-free pasta worth buying because of how  delicious, cheesy, and creamy it is. Few customers reported that its texture was different from traditional pasta, too.

Methodology

Everyone has different tastes when it comes to food. So when it came to selecting the best high-fiber foods at Walmart, I had a few key factors to consider. First, I had to determine just how much fiber per serving is necessary to classify something as high fiber. Foods that are considered to be "excellent sources of fiber" have 5 grams per serving, so I only included products on this list that contained that amount.

But it's not enough to have a lot of fiber. In order to be the best, each item had to actually taste good. To build this list, we looked at product reviews to see which products customers were eating, buying, and loving. Besides the obvious reviews stating that an item tasted great, we chose products with a high overall star rating, which showed that they carried favor among customers.
