Expertise
Coffee, Speakeasies, LA & NYC's Food Culture Scene
  • Selena's go-to coffee order is an iced cortado with oat milk, and her favorite place to get it is Double Dutch Espresso in Manhattan.
  • Given her unique combination of studies at UCLA, food and consumption as metaphors both play huge roles in her fiction writing.
  • After visiting Paris, it's official: She is an escargot apologist.

Experience

Selena is a NYC-based journalist, poet, and aspiring novelist who can turn any minute situation into a dramatic narrative. Her bylines have appeared in Flaunt Magazine, METAL Magazine, Her Campus Magazine, and others.

Education

Selena has a double B.A. in English and Psychology with a double minor in Creative Writing and Food Studies from UCLA. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Columbia University, where she is crafting her debut novel, Men & Parties. An exploration of post-pandemic culture in LA, the book is a modern roaring 20s, complete with Hollywood speakeasies and a Gatsby-like amount of cocktails.
