Casey's General Store is a wildly popular Midwestern-born gas station with thousands of locations in the Midwest and Southern United States. But gas and packaged snacks aren't the only products that bring customers into the store. Casey's has an impressive and delicious lineup of pizzas. We sampled and ranked 10 of Casey's specialty pizzas according to taste, texture, and the coherence of their ingredients. 

While four cheese and pepperoni placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively, the winner by a mile was Casey's taco pizza. Featuring a refried bean and salsa base, mozzarella, cheddar, taco flavored chips, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and ground beef toppings with a hot sauce drizzle, the taco pizza is culinary fusion at its finest. The refried beans add a richness and thicken the salsa without contributing too much flavor. The salsa pairs beautifully with the melted cheese, just as you'd expect from the likes of a quesadilla. However, the combination of toppings really earned this pizza its first-place ranking, with perfectly spiced, umami-rich ground beef, crunchy taco-flavored chips to reinforce the theme, and a burst of freshness from the diced tomatoes and lettuce. Despite our skepticism at gas station produce, the tomatoes and lettuce were juicy and crisp, providing the perfect texture and flavor complement to the heaviness of the meat and cheese. While some of its creative culinary endeavors missed the mark, the taste, texture, and cohesiveness of Casey's taco pizza were absolutely flawless.

Customers love Casey's Taco Pizza as much as us, and sing its praises on social media.
