Dunkin's Best Frozen Drink On The Menu Outshines Frozen Chocolate
The weather might be getting chilly, but that doesn't mean it's time to stop ordering iced coffees and frozen beverages at Dunkin'. The coffee chain is home to a variety of frozen drinks, from its classic, bright-colored Coolatas to its milkshake-like frozen chocolate — and each one is guaranteed to keep your spirits up as days get shorter and temperatures drop. But if you only try one frozen beverage this season, let it be the Coffee Chiller. Not only does it give traditional coffee a textural upgrade, but it still contains plenty of caffeine. What's not to love about that?
According to alleged Dunkin' employees on Facebook, the drink is made up of coffee syrup, cream, liquid sugar, and ice. The coffee syrup is where the drink gets its caffeine, but the rest of the ingredients are incredibly simple. And in our ranking of eight Dunkin' frozen drinks, where Dunkin's Coffee Chiller came out on top, surpassing its Frozen Chocolate, the drink's simplicity was a primary reason we loved it.
Its texture is creamy, rich, and smooth, thanks to the ice that's blended in with the other ingredients. It's certainly on the sweeter side, but it's far less sweet than the chain's other flavored Coffee Chillers, which contain flavor shots like caramel and mocha. Overall, it's a solid frozen drink option that doesn't overwhelm your palate like some of its other frozen beverages do (we're looking at you, Blue Raspberry Coolata).
How to upgrade your Coffee Chiller for the ultimate frozen drink
Although we weren't the biggest fans of the mocha and caramel editions of the Coffee Chiller, that doesn't mean you should rule out customizations entirely. At the end of the day, a customized version will still have many of the same qualities we loved about the plain Coffee Chiller — so if there's a flavor you typically like in your coffee, it's worth adding the same flavor to the frozen version as well. And if you don't love flavored coffee, there are other ways to customize your Coffee Chiller to make it your own.
A medium version of this drink comes with three pumps of coffee syrup, but if you want a more coffee-forward flavor, there's nothing stopping you from asking for a few extra pumps (just keep in mind that this may cost more). Beyond that, you can always swap the Chiller's dairy product. The classic version comes with cream, but you can switch it for one of Dunkin's other dairy alternatives, which include whole milk, almond milk, and even coffee milk. So, whether you're looking to order your Coffee Chiller vegan or you simply want more of a java jive, there are plenty of options.
Of course, if you're open to flavored coffee, Dunkin' has a range of flavor shots from butter pecan to sugar-free coconut. It's really choose-your-own-adventure when it comes to Dunkin's Coffee Chillers, so embrace it, and happy sipping.
