The deli department in any grocery store can be a veritable cornucopia to explore, from heat-and-eat dinner items to ready-to-munch lunch foods, and even classic picnic sides. While Walmart has served many of the basics like coleslaw and sub sandwiches for years, it also continues to adapt. In 2026, the mass retailer added some new deli items that tick trend boxes like a Dubai chocolate-style snack and keto-friendly sides that complement some of the best high-protein dinners you can buy at Walmart, according to customers.

Though certain deli items haven't overwhelmingly impressed us — see our ranking of 15 Walmart deli hot foods — some of the chain's newest additions have gotten rave reviews from customers. Their praise usually hits two marks: It's tasty and it's inexpensive. After all, customers probably are going to this big box retailer for something quick, easy, cheap, and (ideally) delicious. And according to customer reviews online, so far, five new Walmart deli items check off those boxes.

Marketside Apple & Pecan Salad with Chicken

After a summer of lettuce recalls, many consumers skipped their usual salad orders. But as the CDC has declared the cyclospora outbreak a thing of the past, many will happily dive back into pre-made salads with confidence. That likely includes fans of Walmart's Marketside Apple and Pecan Salad, which has accumulated more than 1,000 five-star reviews since it debuted earlier this year. It comes with romaine and mixed lettuces, feta, chicken, pecans, dried apple pieces, and a pouch of Fuji apple vinaigrette dressing to add.

Is it a big salad? That depends who you ask. According to one reviewer on the Walmart website, "This is smaller than the salads available [through] your local fast food drive-thru, but it is big enough to make a filling lunch. AND it only costs about ⅓ what those salads sell for!" Some reviewers have mentioned their salads were past-due when they purchased them, so check dates carefully to ensure freshness. While some folks are big fans of the sweet Fuji apple dressing, others opted to coat the salads with their own dressing choice instead.

The Sausage Project Melty Cheddar Chicken Sausage

Reviewers of The Sausage Project Melty Cheddar Chicken Sausages rave about the ease of preparing these fully-cooked links. They can be warmed up in a frying pan, an air fryer, or the oven in about four minutes. Per the brand's website, the sausages are minimally-processed and contain all-natural ingredients. They are also gluten free and boast 13 grams of protein per link.

As of the time of writing, more than 75% of reviewers on Walmart's site gave these cheese-filled sausages a 5-star rating. Fans love the texture, the taste — especially that they aren't overly salty — and the cheese that oozes out when you cut into one. Walmart also carries the brand's Italian Herb Chicken Sausages and Classic Roasted Chicken Sausages, which are also very well-reviewed on the retailer's site.

Marketside Colby Jack Cheese Stick

While many of the hot foods available at the deli regularly receive mediocre reviews, many of the newer grab-and-go foods that would make an quick snack get a thumbs up from customers — that includes the Marketside Colby Jack Cheese Sticks. The item has a 4.6 out of 5-star rating (as of the time of writing) and costs a mere 50 cents. For the plethora of keto-diet Walmart shoppers out there, this cheese stick is an easy, affordable snack to grab that has zero net carbs.

Marketside also offers Colby Jack Cheese Cubes, if you want a larger version that can be easily added to a charcuterie board or shared among a group of kids in the backseat of the car. Of the flavor, one Walmart reviewer of the cubes wrote, "The cheese has a nice creamy bite with just the right balance of Colby and Monterey Jack."

Great Value Dill Pickle Chips

While we have tips for making crunchy homemade pickles, sometimes convenience trumps DIY, and these new-for-'26 Great Value Refrigerated Dill Pickle Sandwich Chips fit the bill when you need a quick snack, or a container for the fridge. One reviewer on Walmart's site praised these pickle chips for being "not vinegary tasting." That element alone would make these a great addition to a kid-approved charcuterie board, or any snacking platter, for that matter.

Compared to more mildly flavored pickles, the Great Value chips have mustard seed, allspice, dill, dried red bell pepper, bay leaf, and turmeric extract. If you're a pickle connoisseur who likes a simpler, vinegar-forward snacker, this may not be for you. But some have been quite pleased with this addition to the Walmart deli department. "I bought these expecting to not like them. I was very surprised by how good they were," wrote one Redditor.

Olli Salumeria Pepperoni and Mozzarella Charcuterie Snack Pack

While the Olli Salumeria Pepperoni and Mozzarella Charcuterie Snack Pack came to other grocers in 2022, the item has only made its way into the Walmart deli department this year. And fans are happy to see it there, noting that it's a tasty snack or light lunch. We also like the idea of taking this along for an in-flight snack if you're traveling.

This pack, which has 13 grams of protein, comes with thin slices of pepperoni and mozzarella, plus crackers. Reviewers particularly like the taste of the pepperoni, which is reportedly made with hormone-and antibiotic-free pork, and boasts hints of sweet paprika and garlic.

Along with the other items listed above, this snack pack is one more reason why the Walmart deli department may be a convenient stop to seek out your next treat or meal.
