Stacy's is one of the pioneering brands that brought the tradition of baked pita bread into the mainstream snack realm. And despite many new store and name brand competitors, Stacy's remains the gold standard. It's also expanded beyond the classic sea salt to offer a variety of different flavors. We sampled every Stacy's pita chips flavor, ranking each according to crunch, seasonings, and accuracy of flavor.
The best flavor is the Fire Roasted Jalapeño flavor. The Cinnamon Sugar and Sea Salt flavors came in third and fourth place respectively, and we thought both were great options. Sea Salt is a traditional and classic flavor, while the cinnamon sugar is Stacy's only sweet pita chip offering. However, the Cinnamon Sugar chips were inconsistently seasoned, and the Sea Salt one were a little too plain to make it to the top of the ranking.
The Fire Roasted Jalapeño flavor, on the other hand, had a trifecta of spiciness, zestiness, and a slightly sweet undertone to offset the heat. While the jalapeño flavor was the shining star of the flavor profile, we also picked up notes of the bright bell peppers, smoky paprika, and the savory, aromatic tones of onion and garlic powder, all of which were tied together with a touch of sweetness from organic cane sugar. We also liked that the jalapeño pieces were baked into the pita chip dough. Each chip delivered the same shattering crunch as its competitors while also bestowing a zesty, spicy, balanced heat that kept us coming back for more.
Customer reviews for Stacy's Fire Roasted Jalapeño Pita Chips
Customers from Walmart have written countless 5-star reviews for Stacy's Fire Roasted Jalapeno Pita Chips. "These chips are FIRE. Like super good. I want to eat them all day. They're just the right amount spice, crunch, and roastedness," one customer proclaimed on the store's website. Others like that there's a kick of spice in these chips but that it doesn't overpower your tastebuds. Customers also appreciate how big and crunchy the chips are.
While some customers think plain pita chips are strictly for dipping, a lot of the reviews for the jalapeño ones said that these are more than flavorful enough to enjoy as a stand alone snack. That said, just as many customers say they bring even more flavor to classic dips like hummus. The spicy, roasted heat also brings these pita chips into new culinary realms. They'd still be a great spicy complement to cooling, aromatic dips like onion dip or Green Goddess dressing. Use them to spice up a classic Middle Eastern fatoush salad or to dip into a sweet and savory roasted red pepper muhamarra. Jalapeño is a Mexican crop, so customers often use the pita chips instead of tortilla chips to dip in crave-worthy guacamole or a three-ingredient queso as well. You can even swap a chickpea-based hummus for a spicy black bean one. Alternatively, crush a few jalapeño pita chips over a bowl of spicy black bean soup, or use them to garnish a chicken tortilla soup. You could also melt sharp cheddar cheese to transform these pita chips into nachos. This Stacy's pita chip flavor is endlessly versatile.
