Snacks are the unsung heroes of the food world, keeping us fueled in between meals while giving us an excuse to eat something fun. We've had a flurry of new snacks hitting shelves in 2026, from protein bars and yogurts to crackers and dips. In a sea of limited-time items and unexpected collabs, there are plenty of standout picks. As a food writer, I had the pleasure of sampling many of this year's new releases, alongside a few others that were just okay. Because there are so many options out there, I also took positive customer reviews into account.
While my main consideration was taste and texture, I also factored in the uniqueness of the product, its ingredients, and versatility. Some stood out for their inventive flavors, and others for their better-for-you ingredients, but each gave me a reason to reach for another bite. From sweet to savory and everything in between, these are the new snacks worth making room for in your pantry in 2026.
1. Simple Mills Nut & Seed Trail Bars
It was love at first bite with these trail bars. They're jam-packed with sunflower seeds, almonds, and pecans to give them that satisfying crunchy and chew. Available flavors include Almond Pecan, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and my personal favorite, Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt. It doesn't hurt that they use clean ingredients, so you don't have to feel guilty about snacking all day long.
2. Cheez It x Coors Light Beer Cheese Crackers
Cheez-It isn't my go-to snack, but this new release made me a believer. In collaboration with Coors Light, Cheez-It gets a beer cheese makeover. The red pepper gives it the right amount of spice to wake up your taste buds without overwhelming them. One Target reviewer even said that this limited-release was "one of [their] favorite flavors of Cheez-It," despite not liking the taste of beer.
3. Good Foods Spicy Tzatziki Dip & Spread
If this were a ranking, this would be top contender for first place. Good Foods blew me away with its latest dairy dip releases, especially the Spicy Tzatziki. I especially like that it was spicier than most snacks on the market but not uncomfortably so. It is creamy and fresh-tasting with its cucumbers, Greek yogurt, serrano and jalapeño peppers. I tried it with everything from cucumber slices and baby carrots to chips, but it's heavenly when paired with Miss Vickie's Jalapeño Potato Chips. Of course, dipping is only the start. One Target customer said "it's the perfect upgrade to my Mediterranean bowls."
4. Wilde Protein Crackers
I've been a fan of Wilde for a while, but these protein crackers took my fandom to another level. The crackers come in four flavors: Smoked Gouda, Classic Cheddar, Hot Honey, and Buffalo Cheddar. For me, the Classic Cheddar was exquisite. You wouldn't even know it's made of chicken. One Target customer even said they were "better than Cheez-Its," noting that "they have clean ingredients and low carbs and high protein."
5. Chobani 20G Protein Flip Greek Yogurt
Chobani's Flip yogurts got a major upgrade this year with the release of their 20-gram Protein Flip yogurts, available in Tropical Mango Coconut, Strawberry Banana Cashew, Almond Coconut Chocolate, and, my favorite, the Pomegranate Pistachio Chocolate. One Instagram reviewer praised its thick texture, subtle tartness, and mix of fruity, chocolatey, nutty, and crunchy flavors.
6. Kashi Blueberry Almond Gut Health Granola
I've tried my fair share of new granola releases this year, and this one kept me coming back for more. You cannot beat the taste of a real (dried) berry. Kashi's gut-friendly granola has chicory root, which gives it a boost of fiber, as well as gut-activated cultures to complement the fiber. Best of all, it tastes great in your favorite yogurt.
7. RXBAR Nut Butter & Oats Apple Pie
For more than four years, RXBAR had not released a fall seasonal bar — until now. This bar takes all the best elements of an apple pie and concentrates them into a hearty and delicious bar. Ingredients include whole grain oats, egg whites, cashews, and wildflower honey. I tried it and thought it was one of the best RXBAR flavors, with its pleasant chew and distinct apple flavor that reminded me of something you pull out of the oven on a crisp fall morning. Whether you're on the trail or in between classes, you'll love this sweet snack.
8. Dave's Killer Bread Breakfast Bars
You may know Dave's Killer Bread for its hearty loaves, but this year, they launched a line of breakfast bars that includes Boomin' Blueberry Muffin, Apple Cinnamon Crisp, and Strawberry Crumble flavors, all packed with 3 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber. Like other customer reviews, I thought the soft, crumbly texture was perfect and the bar had a good amount of sweet, fruity filling to make every bite satisfying. Breakfast bar or afternoon snack? It's breakfast o'clock somewhere.
9. Dot's Original Snack Mix
If you're a fan of Dot's seasoned pretzel twists, you'll love this snack mix that includes the seasoned mini pretzels, seasoned corn cereal, cheesy pita chips, and garlic rye chips, perfect for game-day spreads and late-night snacking. One Target customer who was already a big fan of the Dot's pretzels said that this was their "new favorite snack."
10. Hippeas Jalapeño Cheddar Blaze
We all love a better-for-you snack that actually tastes good, and Hippeas have found the magic formula with its baked chickpea puffs. While they also released an All Dressed Up flavor and a couple of protein-infused options, the Jalapeño Cheddar Blaze won us over, including earning the top spot in our ranking of Hippeas flavors. Redditors say it has a good texture, flavor, and spice. "I will definitely buy again," one Reddit user wrote.
11. Trader Joe's Sweet Chili Black-Eyes Pea Tempeh Chips
Trader Joe's is the mecca of snacks, with a regular rotation of new and returning bites, and this one brought something different to the table. The tempeh is made from fermented black-eyed peas, and the chips are dusted with chili powder, sugar, and garlic to create the ultimate swicy (sweet and spicy) treat. Fans online say they pair them with dips like tzatziki, labneh, hummus, and guacamole. Many even said they were caught off guard by how good they were.
