Salt & Straw Is Auctioning Off Ice Cream Advent Calendars For A Good Cause
High-end Advent calendars feel like they are having a moment right now, and the ice cream mavens at Salt & Straw are taking advantage to do some good this holiday season. In a press release sent to Tasting Table, Salt & Straw stated that its first-of-a-kind frozen advent calendar will feature 12 flavors for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Being an advent calendar, the flavors will remain a secret until the days they are opened, but they will include brand new recipes, including some infused with Teremana Tequila, Dwayne Johnson's celebrity tequila brand. Best of all, the proceeds from the promotion will go to benefit World Central Kitchen, which is Chef Jose Andres' organization that provides meals to people in need during disasters and crises.
If you want to do some good and give yourself a pretty delicious treat this holiday season, the advent calendars will be auctioned off on eBay starting this November 29th and going until December 6th, with the winners receiving their calendars before December 14th. The advent ice cream will also be shipped in a festive custom freezer, emblazoned with the cartoon visage of Dwanta Claus. While the competition is sure to be hot for this unique holiday treat, it would certainly make an impressive gift for any ice cream lover in your life.
