National Coffee Day 2022: Where To Find The Best Freebies And Deals

National Coffee Day is coming up on September 29. National Today states that The United States and Canada use this day to celebrate their favorite caffeinated beverage — nearly 75% of caffeinated beverages consumed each year are some form of coffee, according to a survey the site conducted.

National Coffee Day was first celebrated in Japan back in 1983, per Community Coffee. The holiday aims to bring awareness to coffee farmers and promote fair-trade practices for more sustainable products. An average of 400 million coffees are consumed each day in America, for a total of 146 billion yearly (via National Today).

To celebrate National Coffee Day this year, some of our favorite brands are offering deals on freshly brewed coffee. Even if you typically make your own brews at home to save some cash, treat yourself to a discounted — or even free — cup of coffee to celebrate this holiday! Here's where to look.

Peet's Coffee

Peet's Coffee is bringing the coffee to you. According to a press release, customers that order their coffee delivery through the Peet's app will be treated to free delivery between September 29 and October 2. On September 29, customers can also claim a free small drip coffee with any purchase in participating Peet's Coffee bars.

Prefer to make your perfect cup at home? Grab some beans, grounds, K-cup pods, and espresso capsules for 20% off, valid in stores and on the Peet's website from September 29 through October 2.

Tim Hortons

To celebrate National Coffee Day, the Canadian coffee chain will be serving up cups of coffee for just a quarter, as announced on Tim Hortons' Instagram. Customers can snag the deal on any medium iced or hot coffee when they order ahead through the Tim Hortons mobile app or website.

The deal is valid for only one day — September 29 — for U.S. locations. Can't make it in that day? QSR reports that through the entire month of October, medium hot and iced coffees are only 99 cents when ordered online.

If you're a member of Dunkin's DD Perks rewards program, you're in luck: According to a press release sent to Tasting Table, members can get a free medium hot or iced coffee on September 29 with any purchase. Start your morning off with a fresh, toasted bagel and a cup of caffeine to kick your day off the right way.

Dunkin's rewards program is free to sign up for, plus you can continue earning points towards free coffee in the future, per the Dunkin website.

Panera is celebrating National Coffee Day with two months free of an Unlimited Sip Club subscription when new subscribers sign up on September 29, reports Thrillist. Current subscribers can claim $2 off barista-made beverages like cold brews, lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, and espressos — though the subscription service already includes free hot and iced coffee for members.

If coffee's not your thing, the Unlimited Sip Club also includes fountain drinks, lemonade, and teas offered in Panera Bread cafes.
