Krispy Kreme's New Deal Promises Free Donuts All Summer Long
There's arguably nothing more delicious than a hot, fresh Krispy Kreme donut, and this summer, you'll be able to snag them for an unbeatable price: free.
According to a press release, Krispy Kreme will be offering guests one free original glazed donut at locations that have a Hot Light, whenever the Hot Light is on. As Reader's Digest explained, the brand's signature light, a feature at many Krispy Kreme locations, indicates that fresh donuts are being made at that moment — meaning they'll be piping hot and ultra-fresh. Per the publication, Krispy Kreme locations often make their batches of glazed donuts twice each day, once in the morning and once at night. However, the exact times vary from location to location.
The new promotion will run from June 8, 2022, to Labor Day, per the press release. Customers can get one free glazed donut anytime the Hot Light is on, no purchase necessary.
Why is Krispy Kreme offering the Hot Light deal?
According to the press release, the Hot Light promotion is part of the brand's "Sweet New Deal," a collection of deals designed to offer customers some respite from what has been a challenging economic period. As the recent Consumer Price Index revealed, per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, food prices jumped 8.3% in the 12-month period between April 2021 and 2022. For food away from the home, such as at restaurants, that increase was 7.2%
Per the press release, Krispy Kreme's Sweet New Deal includes several other promotions, including one free donut of your choice on National Donut Day (June 3, 2022) no purchase is necessary. On National Donut Day, you can also get a dozen original glazed donuts for just $1 with the purchase of any dozen donuts.
Additionally, starting June 8, 2022, Krispy Kreme will use that week's national average gas price (per gallon) to determine the cost of one dozen original glazed donuts — a promotion the company originally ran earlier this year, in April. This iteration of the "Beat the Pump" deal will be available only on Wednesdays through August 31.
