Rummaging through thrift and antique stores can lead to treasures if you know what you're looking for. Some Pyrex dishes are must-have thrift finds, and one from the 1960s can be valued at thousands of dollars. A casserole dish known as the Nemacolin Country Club Zodiac was reportedly custom-made in 1963 as a promotional giveaway item for a Co-op banquet. The club is in Beallsville, Pennsylvania, and souvenirs like this one can be particularly valuable, as Pyrex promotional pieces tend to be harder to find than its regular releases, which gives them heightened appeal to collectors. As demand drives price, the value of the Nemacolin dish has increased, with one dish sold for $3,500 in April 2026.

The white, 2.5-quart round Nemacolin casserole has two spouts that double as handles and was originally made with a glass lid. The rust-colored designs on the dish make this find an easy one to spot on a crowded shelf, as zodiac signs are printed in two rows. Details like date ranges, associated planets, personality types, and birthstones are printed on the surface, making this collector's item a fun conversation starter for your next dinner party.

Searching for gold in store aisles

If you happen to spot one at a thrift store, pick up the vintage Pyrex piece and analyze it fully before heading to checkout. To determine the authenticity of the Pyrex dish, look beneath the handles. The country club's name and year are printed in the circle under one handle, and the 33rd annual Co-op banquet is printed under the other. Additionally, the 475 mark on the bottom of the dish is Pyrex's own model number for its 2.5-quart round Cinderella casserole, which confirms the shape but not the pattern since other designs share it.

The printed design also separates this dish from another collector favorite: Pyrex's forest green 1961 zodiac casserole. That design has a single row of gold zodiac signs with no text printed on the surface. Ideally, you'll be able to track down the lid for the dish, as a complete set is more valuable than the separate pieces. Pyrex dishes that have been properly taken care of and show no signs of visible damage are valued higher than pieces with scratches or chips.
