Popeyes Just Launched A New Sandwich That Combines 3 Fan-Favorite Ingredients

Even if you've never eaten at Popeyes, you probably know the Louisiana-based fast food chain for its crispy fried chicken. However, fans have especially loved Popeyes' crispy chicken sandwiches since they were initially released in 2019. If you're among those fans, you're in luck. Popeyes just released a first-of-its-kind sandwich that combines three of its favorite ingredients: Chicken, sweet honey sauce, and buttermilk biscuits.

Starting today, Popeyes fans can order its new Honey Chicken Biscuit for just $5. The chain's classic crispy chicken fillet comes on a larger version of Popeyes' best-in-the-biz buttermilk biscuit. It's served with two sachets of sweet honey sauce on the side, allowing fans to decide how sweet they want the sandwich to be — and that's it. It's simple, but it's destined to become a Popeyes classic.

In the official press release, Popeyes' Chief Marketing Officer, Matt Rubin, said, "This sandwich brings Popeyes bold flavor and culinary credentials into a delicious, handheld bite, balancing crunchy and soft, savory and sweet, in a combination true to the brand's Louisiana roots." So, if you can't get enough of savory and sweet combos like maple bacon and pineapple on pizza, you're going to want to give this Popeyes sandwich a try.

If the flavor combo sounds familiar to you, you're not making it up. Fans have been hacking the Popeyes menu for years by ordering the chicken tender meal, which often comes with a biscuit on the side. But instead of eating the biscuit on its own, they used it as a bun to hold the chicken, drizzling honey sauce over the whole thing. In an Instagram post, Popeyes acknowledged this fan menu hack, stitching together videos fans had previously shared. "Y'all thought we weren't listening?" the caption read, before breaking the news about the Honey Chicken Biscuit to dedicated Popeyes fans.

The combination of these three ingredients might seem easy enough to make on your own, but their official unity highlights something new. "The Honey Chicken Biscuit is exactly that: our craveable chicken, our iconic buttermilk biscuit, and sweet honey sauce, crafted into one new sandwich. It's simple, it's unmistakably Popeyes, and it shows the kind of culinary care that turns flavors people already love into something entirely new," stated Matt Rubin in the press release. Fans are already expressing their excitement.
