Skip Home Depot And Lowe's: Customers Say This Is The Place To Buy Weber Grills

When shopping for a new Weber grill, your initial instinct may be to stop by Home Depot or Lowes. However, customers say the best place to buy a Weber grill is actually not one of those two big names. Rather, they say your best bet is to go buy one at ACE Hardware — especially if you're looking for top service. On an r/webergrills Reddit post about where to buy a new grill, one user commented that they ordered one online and picked it up at ACE, the grill already assembled. Another person recommended ACE if you're looking for service. 

On a separate r/grilling Reddit post about experiences with buying a Weber grill from ACE, one person wrote, "Ace is the place! Honestly best customer service of any retailer out there. They will absolutely do you right. I'd save myself the aggravation of assembly and just let them do it for free." Others on the thread agreed, citing "amazing" experiences buying a Weber grill from ACE. 

Other customers chimed in that ACE was easy to work with even when it came to grill exchanges, for example, for ordering the wrong model accidentally, or with ACE's flexible 30-day return policy (depending on the store), which could come in handy if you encounter any issues with your Weber grill. ACE operates over 5,000 locally-owned hardware stores domestically and globally. However, it still has that small store feel — and personalized service — compared to big name stores like Lowe's and Home Depot.

ACE Hardware does include free assembly for grills ready for pickup, and even will deliver them assembled (sometimes free or with a minimal charge). The caveat is that this is for grills over $399 and specifically for ACE Rewards program members. While lighter-weight basic charcoal grills sometimes come in under that price (some best-selling Weber grills retail under $500), heavier and harder-to-assemble Weber grills are often more expensive, anyway. However, if your grill's price is lower or you're not a member, you might have to check with your local ACE store or pay for assembly.

Notably, Lowe's also offers free grill assembly, depending on the model. Home Depot also has an add-on grill assembly service for brands including Weber. However, while these big name retailers may offer store credit cards or price-matching discounts, they may not provide as personalized or consistently excellent service as ACE.

Lowe's and Home Depot may have a larger stock of Weber grills or be able to deliver in the chance that a smaller ACE Hardware location may not be able to. However if you do have one close-by or can arrange delivery to your house, Customers say ACE's service is hard to beat, and that ACE is in fact "the helpful place" — as the hardware store's slogan claims.
