'Everything Sounds Delicious': Walmart's New Line Of Great Value Frozen Desserts Has Fans Intrigued

The arrival of autumn means plenty of new, seasonal releases from the country's biggest retailers — and one of the must-have Walmart finds hitting shelves in September 2026 are the newest Great Value frozen desserts that come in five versions: Caramel Apple Blossom, Apple Berry Blossom, Banana Pudding Dessert Bar, Double Chocolate Dessert Bar, and Strawberry Shortcake Dessert Bar. You can already find them in stores and online.

The new desserts are priced around $3 and each package features two single-portion desserts. Walmart has certainly piqued its customers' interest with these treats; one person voiced in an Instagram comment that "Everything sounds delicious," and another shopper said, "I hope these are thaw and serve!!!!" Somebody also noted that "banana flavored things [are] having a comeback in 2026."

Although Great Value is Walmart's budget-friendly private brand, some have expressed dissatisfaction with the price for just two small desserts. In fairness, the price is comparable to other budget retailers selling similar desserts, and it's not unusual for Walmart's frozen desserts to be cheaper than its competitors.

Taking a closer look at the new lineup, let's start with the two Caramel Apple and Apple Berry Blossoms, which are both distinctly autumnal. The Caramel Apple Blossoms are made with flaky pastry and a filling that plays with sweet and buttery notes. The dessert reportedly tastes homemade, and is one of those Walmart desserts under $10 that are perfect for picnics. The Apple Berry Blossoms come with the same soft pastry but feature a bit of tartness in the filling, thanks to the inclusion of berries. Both are best enjoyed heated up, in the oven or the microwave.

Then there are the three dessert bars. The Banana Pudding Dessert Bar feels comfortingly nostalgic without reinventing the wheel — it features layers of cake, banana pudding, and creamy mousse, as well as a few caramel and white chocolate shavings on top. The Strawberry Shortcake Dessert Bar pays homage to another classy, old-school dessert. It's made with cake, vanilla mousse, and strawberry sauce, then topped with flakes of white chocolate. Both of these dessert bars only need to be thawed and are ready to enjoy.

The final dessert in the lineup is the Double Chocolate Dessert Bar, which presents a simple, mini chocolate cake with a melty frosting. The instructions on the box recommend that you heat this dessert bar in the microwave before eating it, which will luckily take under a minute. Nothing better than warm chocolate cake!
