The Pizza Chain Customers Say Has The Best Delivery Service, Hands Down

In an age when placing an order is as simple as a touch of a button, you'd think that companies would be fighting to have the best delivery services possible to keep up with customer demand and market competition. While some popular pizza chains have pivoted to outsourcing delivery drivers from third-party apps (which can result in cold pizza and late arrivals), one vastly popular brand — and America's number-one pizza chain in terms of sales — still uses in-house drivers. It's no wonder that it ranks among the best in delivery service, per customers on social media.

Yes, we're talking about Domino's. Like many of its competitors, Domino's has partnered with third-party platforms like Uber Eats, Postmates, and DoorDash, so customers can order Domino's through those third-party apps. However, according to the chain, the actual deliveries (at least most of them) are still made by Domino's employees. Given the sometimes-tumultuous nature of waiting for a driver employed by third-party food delivery apps, it seems wise that Domino's opted to use its own experienced drivers to complete any third-party orders.

In a Reddit post discussing favorite pizza delivery places, one user praises the longstanding pizza giant's quality of delivery service as well, not just the timing. "The Dominos I frequent is phenomenal," they write, adding, "I can order through the app and get piping hot food in less than 15 minutes when usually I wait 30-45 for other deliveries." The benefit of using in-house drivers is that unlike third-party drivers, Domino's drivers are required to use properly insulated HeatWave sleeves that keep the food as hot as possible while on the road.

In-house employees with better pay provide a better delivery service

Not only does Domino's take the cake for the best delivery service, but it's also one of the pizza chains that offers the best value in 2026. It seems that Domino's has had a bit of a glow-up in the past couple of decades, and the masses have noticed. In a Reddit post asking what everyone's favorite delivery pizza chain is, one user replied with Domino's. "Since that big campaign a while back when they were like, 'Hey, our pizza sucks, so we fixed it,' its actually been pretty good," the Redditor noted.

Although Domino's was forced to abandon its famous 30-minute delivery promise, commenters online still praise the pizza chain's delivery services. Even the delivery drivers themselves agree that Domino's is superior, with a former Domino's driver responding to the same question by writing, "Worked there for two years as a driver, pretty sweet gig all things considered. Still my go to delivery pizza place."

According to Redditors, Domino's also pays its drivers more than other food delivery apps, in addition to compensating drivers for their car mileage, which may boost their productivity and overall performance. However, not 100% of Domino's deliveries are done by in-house drivers, as Redditors have occasionally had third-party drivers deliver their pizzas, but this appears to be infrequent. If it's something you're concerned about, you might want to contact your local Domino's to see what its delivery policy is.
