90,000 Doritos Fans Signed A Petition For This Spicy Jacked Flavor To Make A Comeback

It's hard to top a bag of classic Doritos, but that hasn't stopped the chip brand from launching (and then discontinuing) a huge roster of flavors. And it isn't just flavors that have come and gone, but shapes and sizes, too. Back in 2012, Doritos released Doritos JACKED, a selection of bigger, thicker, and more flavorful chips. The chips were later discontinued, but rabid — and ravenous — fans won't let go. In fact, a Change.org petition requesting that Doritos rerelease Doritos JACKED Ranch Dipped Hot Wings chips in particular has 90,749 signatures and counting.

Why the Ranch Dipped Hot Wings flavor? Randi Cady, who started the petition back in 2019, says, "If I had always seen the wonderful chip sold out more than any other flavor, this makes no sense for them to be discontinued. They are such a unique flavor unlike any other Doritos has released! No other 'spicy/hot' flavor comes even close in comparison!!!!!" The flavor was described by an Instagram reviewer as a spicier take on the Cool Ranch flavor, combining the heat of buffalo sauce with creamy ranch. The seasoning also included MSG, chicken broth, and chicken powder for an additional depth of flavor.

There's no news to report about whether the Doritos JACKED Ranch Dipped Hot Wings chips will ever come back, and since they were discontinued, fans have been searching for something else to come close to this iconic chip flavor. 

Ruffles Double Crunch Hot Wings and Lays Stax Buffalo Wing with Ranch were frequently touted as close alternatives; however, the former has also been discontinued, and the latter is only intermittently available (and isn't listed on the Lays website). Doritos does have a Blazin' Buffalo & Ranch flavor, but it is underwhelming — it was our least favorite Doritos flavor, and one Reddit user said, "No one in their right mind would compare these to the Jacked Ranch Dipped Hot Wings." Ruffles' Buffalo Wings chips (our favorite Ruffles flavor) do include the chicken broth and powder that turn a spicy chip into a more accurate buffalo wing flavor, but they lack any ranch seasoning.

While it may not be the same as the huge and crunchy Doritos JACKED, you can also make your own buffalo-flavored snack mix. To get that hot wings-in-ranch flavor combination, sprinkle on some ranch seasoning powder for an herby and creamy finish.
