On this average Thursday afternoon, just as the Tasting Table office began to slow down and staffers started to look forward to the weekend, a miracle happened. We were blessed with a rough cut of the premiere of Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party, and things will never be the same again. We laughed, we cried, we cringed in confusion and we immediately had to share our experience with the world.

The show doesn't premiere on VH1 until Monday, but we've got you covered. Here are five incredibly important things you need to know about the most groundbreaking television program of our time. It opens with Martha and Snoop tucked into a staged bed together, cuddling stuffed animals, so . . . here we go.

① It's taped in front of a live studio audience.

For those of you picturing the polished, edited storyline of a traditional Martha Stewart program, you're in for a surprise. In true VH1 fashion, the show is taped in front of a live audience on a soundstage that's decorated half as a pristine "Martha kitchen" and half as a blinged-out "Snoop kitchen," which appears to be covered in (fake?) marijuana plants. Also, there's an MC.

② Seth Rogen and Wiz Khalifa are the series' first guests.

The talk show aspect of the program means that special guests will join Martha and Snoop every week. In the premiere, Seth Rogen and Wiz Khalifa stop by for a visit. As Rogen very aptly puts it, "This is the weirdest group of people ever on a stage together."

Wait, also, Ice Cube is here? What's happening?

③ The opening theme is the greatest thing you'll ever see.

Snoop and Martha get jiggy with it in front of a white backdrop to their own theme song, Snoop draped with gold chains and Martha covered in (basically) seersucker—and we can't tear our eyes away.

④ It's part cooking competition, part talk show and all fabulous.

In the premiere alone, Martha and Snoop don shiny wrestling champion-like garb and battle it out over who can make the better fried chicken in hopes of winning a blinged-out, fried chicken-covered belt of honor. The show also offers history lessons, recipe tips, jokes and quips, and seems to encourage audience participation. It's . . . a lot.

⑤ Martha Stewart doesn't know how she got here either.

This is no cocktail party in the Hamptons, but somehow, Martha agreed to this. Queen Martha might be under the influence of something? We're not sure what else could explain her strangely calm demeanor in the face of all things Snoop (and his endless jokes about pot).

To be fair, though, these two do make a pretty adorable pair. Sparks are flying, folks.
