The Outdoor Dining Guide You've Been Waiting For

Here's the outdoor dining guide you've been waiting for all year

You've been waiting for this all year: long summer nights in your neighborhood restaurant's backyard and brunches where sunglasses don't raise any eyebrows. Summer is finally here, and with it, all the outdoor dining you can fit between picnics in the park and trips to the beach.

In six cities ranging from L.A. to Washington, D.C., we've got you covered with lists of all the places you want to eat out this summer. Here are the spots that are really heating up.

L.A.: Even if you can eat outside most of the year in the City of Angels, summer's a great time to explore the city's finest outdoor spots, like the rooftop at Perch in Downtown L.A. Get the full list.

San Francisco: The Bay Area is calling, too, with restaurants like Pizzeria Delfina, where seasonal Italian cooking is at its finest. Get the full list.

Chicago: Over in the Windy City, the patio at Homestead on the Roof, as self-described, offers views of the restaurant's very own rooftop garden. And if it's craft cocktails you're after, Celeste's terrace should be this season's go-to. Get the full list.

New York City: The terrace at Mario Batali's La Sirena just opened for the season. (Insider tip: Get the mascarpone pancakes for brunch.) For a cozier meal, seek out the hidden garden at Hudson Clearwater. Get the full list.

Miami: Wynwood looks more art gallery than restaurant, which makes it real easy to spend a long afternoon on its grassy patio. It's a view that competes only with Rusty Pelican, a Miami mainstay on the waterfront. Get the full list.

Washington, D.C.: The latest city to get on the Michelin map is full of great outdoor options. If summer means an occasional three-martini lunch, head over to Blue Duck Tavern. But if drinking in views of the Potomac is more your speed, the raw bar at Fiola Mare awaits. Get the full list.
