The Discontinued Chick-Fil-A Breakfast Sandwich That Featured A Uniquely Delicious Bun

Chick-fil-A is famous for many things, from its hand-breaded chicken sandwiches to its decision to stay closed on Sundays. But more than anything Chick-fil-A is known for paying microscopic attention to the guest experience (for example, employees are trained to say "my pleasure" instead of "you're welcome"). Given this customer focus, the fast food chain may eventually be inclined to bring back one of its discontinued breakfast sandwiches. The sandwich in question is the Chicken, Egg & Cheese Bagel, which came on a Sunflower Multigrain Bagel that fans still recall with fondness. 

The Sunflower Multigrain Bagel was discontinued in 2021, with the company saying it needed to remove some items to make room for new ones, and also optimize the menu for efficiency. The sandwich made it to our list of eight discontinued fast food breakfast sandwiches that deserved a second chance, thanks to the earthy, multigrain bagels which added flavors and textures that made this sandwich truly unique. 

While announcing the axing of the bagel and the popular sandwich it was an integral part of, Chick-fil-A urged customers to try the English muffin or buttermilk biscuit as a replacement. But fans continue to miss the bagel.

Chick-fil-A continues to serve up big hits for breakfast, with its Chicken and Waffle sandwich making it to our list of top breakfast sandwiches of 2026 so far. But even five years after it was discontinued, the multigrain bagel keeps popping up in conversations online. Just a year ago, someone posted a question on Reddit about Chick-fil-A's best breakfast sandwich, triggering an outpouring of love for the Chicken, Egg & Cheese Bagel. One fan said the fast food chain "crushed my soul when they discontinued the bagel." Another agreed enthusiastically, saying it was delicious. "I wish I could find that particular kind being sold anywhere else near me," they wrote.  

Earlier this year, a Redditor asked which discontinued menu items people would like to see make a comeback and the breakfast bagel came up. "I have been in mourning since the CEC bagel was discontinued," one fan wrote. People have also tried to find dupes of the bagel, and failed.

Fans launched a petition on Change.org asking Chick-fil-A to bring the sandwich back. "I used to LOVE this bagel sandwich. I miss it dearly. Since Chick-fil-a discontinued it I have not bought breakfast there. It was my only favorite breakfast item there," one of the petitioners wrote, adding, "I really really wish they would bring this back if nothing else."
