HGTV's Erin Napier is known for her impeccable design taste. On "Home Town," she designs homes with cozy-yet-elegant vibes that feel livable and aspirational at the same time. She applies the same approach to her own home, right down to the shade of paint in her kitchen: Sherwin-Williams' Netsuke.

In a recent interview with Southern Living, Napier explains that she wanted her kitchen to feel homey and purposeful. Napier told the magazine, "I wanted it to be like the downstairs from 'Downton Abbey' — a classic and casual English style that's utilitarian but kind of elegant."

The shade of paint Napier chose for her kitchen walls helps to bring her "Downton Abbey" fantasy to life. Sherwin-Williams' Netsuke gives a warm golden glow that complements her sunny kitchen and makes the space feel lusciously lived-in. Netsuke is a yellow neutral with a khaki undertone that works well with many design styles, including the English countryside chic design Napier wanted for her kitchen. She complemented the warm, neutral wall shade with dark, matte leathered granite countertops, which help contribute to the natural, homey vibes.

Use Erin Napier's tips to give your kitchen a warm, cozy glow

Napier's Mississippi kitchen has English countryside elements that you can easily recreate in your own home. Using Sherwin-Williams' Netsuke on your walls, doors, or cabinetry is a good place to start. The shade is neutral, gentle, and calming, so it's no wonder that Napier says the kitchen is her family's favorite place to hang out.

Napier elevates her kitchen design further with copper cookware and complementary dark and light wood tones. Her kitchen floors are a light hardwood, and she opted for a darker wood stain on her doors. A warm honey-colored wood on the island and the ceiling beams ties the room together.

The cozy vibes continue in her choice of accessories, including vintage copper pots, which add warmth and timeless style to any cooking space, rustic pendant lighting, and glass-fronted cabinets. Regarding the backsplash, Napier ditched the tiles and used a unique material with more charm. Instead of the ever-ubiquitous subway tiles often found in modern kitchens, she uses vertical paneling as her backsplash. These subtle design elements make Napier's kitchen feel homespun yet luxurious. We can easily see Mrs. Patmore from "Downton Abbey" preparing tea (and spilling some piping-hot tea about the upstairs folks) in this elegant countryside chic kitchen.
