With so many brands of naan available to the modern consumer, it never hurts to have a reliable recommendation for which of these iconic South Asian flatbreads are worth purchasing. This is what Tasting Table endeavored to provide in our recent run-down of nine store-bought naan breads, ranked from worst to best. Despite some stiff competition, one emerged hands-down as the best store-bought naan bread on the market — Truly Indian's Tikka Masala Naan.

However, the Tikka Masala Naan proved to be a revelation, moving our tester to declare: "This is a product I never knew I was looking for, but now that I've tasted it, it might just be one of my all-time favorite frozen food products."

While it shares the textural squishiness and malleability of Truly Indian's other naans, the game-changing element of the Tikka Masala Naan proved to be a noticeable but not excessive spread of sauce atop the bread. Tasting Table's critic wrote: "It may be unconventional, but I'm absolutely here for it. You get just the right amount of rich, earthy flavor from the sauce without it overpowering the flavor of the naan itself." The textural consistency of the naan, meanwhile, meant that it was "perfect" down to the last bite.

The superlative quality of the Truly Indian Tikka Masala Naan earned it the top spot in our ranking, despite our tester admitting it lacks the versatility of some other naans on the list. Nevertheless, our critic argued: "This is a really clever and creative way to create frozen naan, and I absolutely think that ingenuity is something to celebrate." Our critic happily anticipated piling the remaining naans with elaborate chopped salads until the package was exhausted.

We weren't the only ones impressed by the Truly Indian Tikka Masala Naan, as the product was named overall winner in the "Breads and Bakery" category of the 2026 NEXTY Awards earlier this year. Writing on Instagram, one customer praised the Tikka Masala Naan as "authentic, fluffy and flavorful," adding: "They have the perfect balance of spice and just a hint of sweetness."
