Who Supplies Weber's Meat Shop Steaks?
Most know the Weber Grill name from its collection of grilling products such as coal and gas grills, along with a private line of seasonings, but the brand also operates restaurants under the same name. Although there are only five locations, the Weber Grill restaurants were created to show how well Weber products work. Beyond manufacturing products, running restaurants, and offering cooking classes, Weber Grill also allows its customers to purchase meat through a section known as the Meat Shop — and that meat is supplied by The Linz Shop.
The Linz Shop supplies various cuts of beef to Weber's Meat Shop, including tomahawks, ribeyes, filets, New York strips, and center-cut strips. The quality of meat fluctuates between Choice and Reserve grades, and The Linz Shop promises only the best. According to its website, "It's thanks to a unique combination of our own Linz Heritage Angus genetics and four generations of Linz butchering and aging expertise." The cheapest option in the collection is the Weber Grill Restaurant Prime Dry-Aged Ribeye Collection, which goes for $129.99, while the most expensive is the Weber Grill Restaurant Summit Steak Package at $259.99. The other four packages fall within this range.
The Linz Shop provides high-quality meats for Weber Grill and more
The Linz Shop began as a family-owned butcher shop in Chicago that opened its doors in 1963. Over the years, it has built a name for itself by producing high-quality meat through partnerships with not only Weber Grill but also several other major brands such as Michael Jordan's Steakhouse, Doc's Smokehouse, and Goldbelly. "They raise their own, grow their own feed," explains one reviewer on the Linz Shop website, corroborating the meat quality. "When you look at the restaurants and hotels that use their products, why would you ever use anyone else... Simply the finest!"
Today, The Linz Shop remains owned by the fourth generation of the Linz family. Although Chicago lost its status as the meatpacking capital of the U.S., the brand still operates out of the Windy City. Its partnership with Weber's Meat Shop aims to offer the "Weber Grill experience right at home." Each Weber Grill collection or package comes with one Weber Chicago Steak seasoning bottle, which we ranked second place on our list of 10 Weber steak seasonings.
One of the more expensive offerings, the Weber Grill Restaurant Tomahawk Collection, even comes with a Weber Grill digital thermometer. While each piece of meat is given the standard Linz Shop treatment, it's prepped in that signature Weber Grill Meat Shop way before finding its way into a customer's kitchen.
