Forget Costco: Sam's Club Sometimes Has A Free Hot Dog Combo. Here's How To Get It

Costco isn't the only shopping warehouse where you can snag a fresh hot dog. Sam's Club also has one available in its food court for new members. It comes as a combo meal at no additional charge when you purchase $10 worth of other merchandise available at the club. The deal has to be redeemed within 33 days of signing up. The combo comes with a single hot dog and a 30-ounce fountain drink. Condiments are free and are self-serve at the café. The options usually include ketchup, relish, and mustard, though sometimes sauerkraut is also available — in fact, the condiment bar is a feature that Sam's Club's food court does better than Costco. Refills on the drink are free, so if you're extra thirsty, this might be an ideal bargain for shopping on a hot summer's day. 

If you missed the deal and aren't a new member, the hot dog combo normally goes for $1.50 without any extras like chips. And unlike its competitor, you don't need to be a member to enjoy the food served at Sam's Café, a perk that makes it even more competitive with Costco's famous food court hot dog combo.

Unfortunately, there are a few caveats attached to Sam's Club's hot dog deal. Not only do you need to buy at least $10 worth of merchandise while you're there, but Sam's Club is particular about what purchases count toward that total. Alcohol, tobacco, eGift Cards, gift cards, and prescriptions don't apply toward the $10 minimum required to score the free hot dog deal, so you'll need to grab qualifying items during your visit.

You might also end up paying sales tax on your meal depending on which state you purchase it in. However, because the hot dog deal is already such a bargain, you likely won't spend more than $2.50 on the food itself. That's still a pretty great deal if you're hungry, want to try one of the best items on the Sam's Club food court menu, and want to save a little extra cash for your next membership renewal.
