Krispy Kreme Unveils 4 Festive New Donuts For St. Patrick's Day 2023
With St. Patrick's Day coming into focus, you might be on the lookout for fun ways to spend the holiday. Or maybe you're looking forward to the longstanding annual party your wildest friend throws every year. As the special day nears, whether you're at an office luncheon or your favorite local pub (or at both places throughout the day), folks are objectively even happier to see you if you step into the scene carrying a box of donuts. That's where Krispy Kreme's new festive offerings come in.
Whip out these celebratory treats after guests have finished their corned beef and cabbage during a St. Paddy's Day dinner. Pair them with an Irish cream coffee or even a pint of Guinness. (We aren't judging.) However you choose to enjoy them, Krispy Kreme wants customers to live a little large this year — it's getting behind the spirit of the holiday again. The chain enjoyed some premature "luck of the Irish" with a record-breaking sales year in 2022, and now it looks like the donut giant is on a roll as springtime approaches. So, what can fans expect from these four all-new St. Paddy's Day menu items?
The Good as Gold collection has arrived
According to Krispy Kreme, its four new donuts are gold-themed and come in a festive box dotted with shamrocks. The Golden Cookies & Kreme is dipped in white icing, topped with golden cookie crumbles and sprinkles, and stuffed with golden cookie Kreme filling. The Hat O' Gold is a playful nod to Irish culture; it features chocolate icing, a fun green plaid pattern, and a sugar leprechaun hat.
For those who prefer a more traditional donut, the Golden Sprinkle is a regular glazed one with light green icing and (of course) gold sprinkles. The most exuberant offering in the new lineup — the Rainbow Kreme Filled Doughnut — contains White Kreme inside and is topped with green icing, mini gold coin sprinkles, vanilla buttercream clouds, and a rainbow decoration made from sugar. As a bonus fifth St. Paddy's Day treat, Krispy Kreme is also bringing back its beloved green O'riginal Glazed Doughnut this year. (Hope you brought your sweet tooth.)
If you want to browse the pastry case before picking some up, be rest assured, the chain is kicking off the celebration early. Pop into any location wearing green on March 16 or 17 and you can score a free green glazed donut, no purchase necessary. The four new holiday offerings hit select stores nationwide on March 9 and are only available for a limited time, so fans, "donut" miss this gilded lineup while it lasts.
