How Cheetos Fans Can Help Bring A Flavor Back From The Dead

Though they were invented about 40 years after the original (via Insider), some people consider Flamin' Hot Cheetos the better chip. The flavor comes in three different varieties — Flamin' Hot Limón, XXTRA Flamin' Hot, and regular Flamin' Hot — and is offered in multiple forms including popcorn, Puffs, and Mac 'n Cheese. Aside from the Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos and Cheetos Bolitas, a popular Mexican flavor that was recently introduced to the U.S., these are the only spicy Cheetos that are currently on the market.

The selection of spicy flavors, however, used to look a bit different. Cheetos also used to make Flamin' Hot Chipotle Ranch, Flamin' Hot Pepper Puffs, and Nashville Hot Cheetos (via Cheetos Chesterville). Since being discontinued, the only way to taste them has been to try your luck at finding an old bag on eBay. But pretty soon, it'll be a lot easier to snag one, because one of these three Cheetos flavors is returning to shelves.

Fans will decide which flavor Cheetos will bring back

Announcing the news on Instagram, Cheetos revealed it would be bringing back one of three spicy Cheetos flavors, and fans would be making the ultimate decision. To cast your vote, you can visit the Cheetos Chesterville website and select either Flamin' Hot Chipotle Ranch, Flamin' Hot Pepper Puffs, or Nashville Hot. Each fan can vote once, but will also be given a second opportunity by playing Chesterville, Cheetos' Halloween-themed virtual reality game that can be accessed through VR gaming platform Meta.

During the voting period, Cheetos will release clues or "Cheetle Codes" on Instagram to make it easier to beat the game. Fans have until November 2 to cast their first and second votes, before the final count will be made, Brand Eating reports. The winning flavor will be announced on social media before being released in stores early 2023, when it will be sold for a limited time.
