Michelin Guide And Turo Are Offering Exclusive Dining Experiences To NY And CA

Turo — the world's largest car-sharing marketplace, according to a press release sent to Tasting Table – has partnered with Michelin Guide to offer an enticing dining opportunity to a few lucky foodies in New York and California.

In honor of Michelin's roots, the two companies collaborated on a series of road trip experiences named Drive to Table. Guests who book select electric vehicles for weekends from November 4 through December 16 will be able to unlock exclusive experiences at four different Michelin-starred restaurants split between the two states. According to the Turo website, each experience has one package available per weekend and will cost $150 per day with a two-day rental minimum. In addition to the cost of the car rental, the booking will include a reservation for two at the restaurant assigned to the car, a room at a hotel in the area selected by Michelin Guide, and a "private culinary experience" at said hotel.

An experience centered around fine dining

As part of the Drive to Table experience, diners in California can choose from Bell's or Barndiva, which each have one Michelin star; In New York, diners can indulge at the two-star Al Coro or Clover Hill, which has one star.

Bell's is located on California's Central Coast, and the French-inspired bistro is offering a personal meet-and-greet with its chefs, Daisy and Gregory Ryan. Diners will also enjoy a private garden tour of the location. To the north, Healdsburg's Barndiva will serve up farm-to-fork American fare prepared by executive chef Erik Anderson. The rustic-style eatery is surrounded by garden spaces, creating a relaxing environment for diners to enjoy a cocktail tasting with "beverage guru" Scott Beattie. (If you miss out on the reservation, you can always recreate Beattie's rye negroni recipe at home.)

In New York, Manhattan's Al Coro will serve food prepared by executive chef Melissa Rodriguez and include a cocktail tasting at bar Discolo, which is located inside the restaurant. If you're opting for a more intimate experience, Clover Hill in Brooklyn Heights only seats up to 30 guests at a time. The booking includes a tour led by executive chef Charlie Mitchell as well as a behind-the-scenes peek at the kitchen, complete with a special course.

These Drive to Table experiences are available starting November 1 on the Turo website. As there are only two packages available per city each weekend they're likely to sell out fast so we would suggest booking sooner rather than later if you are aiming to snag a spot.
