The noble Negroni, with bourbon and bubbles
OK, we know you shouldn't mess with a good thing (re: the classic Negroni), but never has adding bourbon to something been a bad idea. The Boulevardier is a classic interpretation of the usual gin-laced Negroni cocktail, where the crisp gin is replaced with smooth bourbon. Trust us, this switch up is well worth getting in trouble with Negroni traditionalists. While you're at it, just go ahead and add some bubbles, too, because if you're bucking tradition you may as well go all the way.
Add 1 ounce of Campari, 1 ounce of sweet vermouth, 1 ounce of bourbon and ice to a pint glass, and stir well. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and top with Champagne. Twist an orange peel and run the peel around the rim of the glass, then add to the drink as a garnish.
