Taco Bell Nacho Fries

Apologies in advance for messing up your New Year's diet

The holy grail of late-night drive-thru runs and greasy guilty pleasures might soon be giving us the menu item we all deserve. According to Popsugar, the great Taco Bell is currently testing a mouthwatering nacho-french fry mash-up at one lucky California location.

While the taco giant's Loaded Seasoned Fries have long been a staple at Taco Bells in Japan, Latin America and Canada, the item has never been available stateside, until now.

Foodbeast recently tried the junk food hybrid, enjoying the combination of melted cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo and ground beef, and noting the uniquely seasoned fries (the international variants come just with regular fries). The editors also had a chance to try Taco Bell's new Chicken Chips, crunchy, tortilla chip-shaped nuggets perfect for dunking into gooey nacho cheese. With any luck, we'll be seeing a nationwide rollout for both of these tasty snacks sooner rather than later.

Update: More than a year later, your late-night fast-food prayers have been answered. Taco Bell just announced it will start selling Nacho Fries, seasoned fries with a side of nacho cheese, for just $1 starting January 25. According to Eater, add-on niceties (that are basically requirements in our book) will include pico de gallo, beef and sour cream.
