A 'Golden Girls'-Inspired Restaurant Is Opening In NYC

NYC is getting a 'Golden Girls'-themed café

Next up on the 90s revival train: a Golden Girls-inspired restaurant in New York City, outfitted with actual show memorabilia from Rue McClanahan (aka Blanche Devereaux).

Dubbed Rue La Rue Café, the restaurant is set to open in early September up in Washington Heights by local resident and close friend of McClanahan Michael J. LaRue.

"I believe the neighborhood is going to support this," LaRue tells DNAinfo. "I believe the population exists here already."

McClanahan's son is also behind the restaurant and says they will be making their own merchandise, according to Eater (though Disney has yet to comment). But for now, the Rue La Rue team is deep in menu-planning mode for the all-day restaurant, working on soups, salads, wraps and baked treats.

So the question remains: Will there be moist and delicious cupcakes?
