'Saved By The Bell' Fans Are Planning A Pop-Up In Chicago

A pop-up honoring 'Saved by the Bell' is slated to open in Chicago this summer

Apparently, we all really miss the 90s. In 2014, a Friends-style Central Perk pop-up in Manhattan drew lines down the block and more than a few recollections about the "Rachel" hairdo. Down Under, Aussies are raising a glass to George Costanza at George's Bar in Melbourne, and in Robins, Iowa, the only restaurant in town is Big Lebowski themed.

Now some industry friends in Chicago are planning a monthlong Saved by the Bell pop-up this summer. Dubbed Saved by the Max (the Max was the after-school hangout in SBTB, in case you need a refresher) has a pun-loaded menu. AC Sliders or Macaroni & Screech, anyone? There will also be Bayside-inspired cocktails, 80s and 90s trivia nights, and SBTB costume contests.

The organizers, who have yet to reveal their identities, tell Eater Chicago, "Our menu is being hand-selected and will not total tributes to SBTB and references, but good stuff you'll actually enjoy while taking in the experience!"

They have also been careful to say they aren't associated with NBC. Hopefully, the media giant that beamed the show into your home from 1989 to 1993 won't take issue with the pop-up.
