Tabasco's Hottest Hot Sauce Is Here

Beware: This one's not for the weak

Is Tabasco's original formula a form of child's play to you? Is even its fiery habanero sauce enough to give your throat only a slight tickle? If you're the chile head who needs your food to make you shed a little blood, sweat and tears (we're talking tears of joy, of course), the famous hot sauce company is coming out with a new variety you're going to want to get your hands on: Tabasco Scorpion Sauce.

Starting tomorrow, July 19, Tabasco will sell this devilishly crimson batch of hot sauce for a limited time, Bon Appétit reports. The elixir, which is reportedly 20 times hotter than its classic flavor sitting on diner tables across the country, combines hellish scorpion peppers with guava and pineapple (meaning it'll also taste good, not just singe your taste buds). The new brew rings in at roughly 50,000 on the Scoville scale, which is equivalent to chomping down on a raw cayenne pepper or Thai chile.

So, no, this sauce might not be hot enough to kill you, but, it's still one that's definitely worth adding to your collection.

Update: Due to overwhelming demand, Tabasco Scorpion Sauce is current sold out.
