New Study Permits You to Ban Low-Fat Cheese Forever
Cheese lovers everywhere, rejoice. You no longer need to suffer through low-fat cheese. According to a new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, that part-skim mozzarella and reduced-fat feta you’ve been suffering through don’t provide any health benefits.
In a study including 139 subjects, researchers found no major difference in LDL, or bad cholesterol, between people who ate regular-fat cheese and reduced-fat cheese. Blood pressure and waist size didn’t differ much either. HDL, or good cholesterol, was higher in participants who ate regular-fat cheese.
The conclusion? Science has just given you permission to say sayonara to that light ricotta forever. Long live full-fat cheese.
