Holiday Brunch Recipes: Christmas Day Brunch Menu

The perfect Christmas Day brunch menu

The toys are out, there's wrapping paper everywhere and everyone is getting a little hangry. Proper Christmas cheer requires a hearty meal to start the day right, so reach for an omelet as green as your mistletoe and a sweet Dutch baby breakfast treat. Keep the Christmas carols flowing as you cook and don't forget to slice up the orange from your stocking.

① Drink: White Mimosa

We like our mimosas like our Christmases: white. Serve milk for the under-21 crowd and let the adults have this Cointreau-spiked treat. Top with Lillet Blanc, lemon juice and Champagne for a drinkable Christmas present.

② Main Course: Kuku Sabzi (Persian Herb Omelet)

Fill up on a baked egg dish that matches your tree—complete with rose petal "ornaments." It's traditional for the Persian New Year, which doesn't start until spring, but a dish this good (and ethereally fragrant) can't be kept on the back burner.

③ Dessert: Dutch Baby Pancake with Caramelized Pears and Toasted Almonds

We can't think of a better way to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus than with a breakfast baby of our own. In-season pears get caramelized and even sweeter in this puffed eggy pancake, which is also fair game for dessert. Besides, it's Christmas: You should eat dessert at every meal.
