How Our Favorite Chefs Are Getting Ready for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is around the corner which means it's officially Time to Celebrate. All month long we're bringing you recipes, tips, tricks and stories that are equal parts memorable and delicious.
For many chefs, working on Thanksgiving is almost a given, but some manage to sneak out of their whites and ditch their industrial restaurant kitchens for home kitchens.
Here’s what chefs like Mario Batali, Curtis Stone and entertainment queen Ina Garten are up to.
Batali seems to have his salumi for the holiday meal on lock.
Naturally, Garten’s table looks charming.
Alex Guarnaschelli has an extra kitchen helper this season.
Andrew Carmellini and 29 other chefs spent the morning sharing cooking tips and dining al fresco meal in Rockefeller Center.
Rachael Ray has a creative way of presenting pasta at the holiday table.
City Harvest is helping make Thanksgiving possible for thousands of New Yorkers in need.
We recently delivered 80 Thanksgiving turkeys to @HolyApostlesSoupKitchen in Manhattan. We received this note from Michael Ottley, their Director of Operations: “Every year around this time, it is great to see the City Harvest truck pull up and the drivers ready and willing to deliver our holiday turkeys – an integral part of our holiday meal service. Without them, we simply wouldn’t be able to provide a traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving day. This year, we’ll serve over one thousand New Yorkers who are counting on us. These people are our family, and thanks to City Harvest, our family will be a little happier this holiday.”
In Philly, Marc Vetri is celebrating the holiday with a potluck family meal.
It warms my heart to be at pot luck thanksgiving staff meal @vetricucinaphl ...After 18 years here we are fortunate to have the closest knit team we have ever have. It is so emotionally fulfilling to see our entire team sitting down for a beautiful family meal together made by everyone at the table. I am truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing family! ❤️
