  • Elaine's passion for working with food began with her job in hospitality, catering for weddings and events for ten years.
  • As a massive Beatles fan, she was thrilled when one of her vegan recipes was featured on Paul McCartney's Meat Free Monday website.
  • Having visited Italy more than 30 times, Elaine is an avid fan of Italian food and is keen to get the word out that there is more to Italian cuisine than pizza and pasta!

Elaine's love of food and passion for healthy eating inspired her to start her food blog Thyme to Feel Alive, in 2019 as a resource for anyone looking to eat healthier and live a more fulfilling life. As a science teacher, she loves learning about the science of nutrition and writing articles to explain difficult concepts in simple ways. She has been a freelance writer for the last two years, writing across many different niches, but food is her first and biggest passion and will always be the subject she enjoys writing about most.
She plans to travel around Europe extensively in the coming years, introducing her young daughter to the delights of Mediterranean food and culture.

Elaine has an honors degree in chemistry from the University of Strathclyde and returned to the same university for her PGDE in Teaching.
