Despite record-high food inflation and COVID-19 that just won't quit, Winsight Grocery Business states that over half of the shoppers surveyed plan to spend the same amount of money on Labor Day foods as they have in years past. Consumers weary from ongoing economic and social challenges told inflation and the coronavirus to hold their beer while they take a day to celebrate like it was the before times, and 25% of shoppers surveyed say they have plans to spend even more than they have previously.
Over 30% of surveyed consumers say they plan to shop sales events linked to the holiday in order to get more bang for their buck. Kroger is geared up for holiday parties, offering deals and a wide selection of foods essential for Labor Day success. Even though it got the date wrong on its holiday schedule calendar, Kroger posted that it will have normal operating hours this Labor Day.
