Gordon Ramsay's Upscale Burger Chain Is Coming To A New City

Gordon Ramsay is bringing burgers to Boston! The renowned British chef and restaurateur, known nationwide for his slew of reality TV shows including "Hell's Kitchen" and "Master Chef," has announced he is bringing the third location of his eponymous Gordon Ramsay Burger to Beantown later this year, according to the Boston Globe.

The expansion is part of a growth spurt for Ramsay's extensive line of restaurants. It was only months ago that the "Kitchen Nightmares" host revealed he would be opening a second restaurant in Chicago's River North neighborhood, and his first Boston establishment, Ramsay's Kitchen, debuted in January at the Mandarin Oriental hotel.

"I've always absolutely loved Boston," Ramsay told the Globe in an email. "After opening Ramsay's Kitchen, with the diverse mix of locals, travelers from around the world, and world-class universities, to me, a Burger in Boston makes perfect sense. It's definitely one of the best cities out there. You're so close to all the fantastic seafood that New England is known for and you don't have the pressure of a city like New York, so you can be innovative and try to connect with the local scene."

Ramsay seems to be making up for lost time after the COVID-19 pandemic, opening up multiple new restaurants in rapid succession. Following the successful launch of Chicago's Gordon Ramsay Burger location in 2021, the Chicago Sun Times reported the Windy City will be receiving a second Ramsay eatery with a Hell's Kitchen restaurant slated to open in early 2023.

What to expect from Boston's Gordon Ramsay Burger

Gordon Ramsay Burger opened its first location in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Hotel in 2012. The small chain focuses on, you guessed it: Burgers, with locations offering a selection of gourmet, butter-basted burgers ranging from the standard Backyard Burger made with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion, to the spicy Hell's Kitchen Burger featuring jalapeño, avocado, tomato, and jalapeño aioli. All the burgers are made from Ramsay's signature blend of brisket, chuck sirloin, and short rib ground beef (per Hell's Kitchen Recipes) and can be substituted with a vegan patty. The menu also includes a chicken burger, a fish and chips inspired sandwich, and hot dogs, as well as truffle fries, onion rings and homemade milkshakes — including a sticky toffee pudding flavor — for dessert.

Ramsay is entering a crowded market in Boston. Boston Magazine maintains a list of best burgers in Boston and the city is home to the popular celebrity chain Wahlburgers, which, according to Pop Culture, was just named the official burger of the Boston Red Sox. Still, Ramsay is not deterred, telling MassLive in a statement, "After such a warm welcome for Ramsay's Kitchen from this amazing city, we can't wait to share some incredible burgers with the residents and visitors."

The 4,000 square-foot burger shop will feature an open roof deck and is slated to open later this year at 111 North Street in the Canopy Hotel.
