José Andrés Nobel Peace Prize 2019 Nomination
He's more than deserving of the honor
José Andrés—D.C. chef, humanitarian, restaurateur and overall Good Person—is now a Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
Earlier this week, John Delaney, a U.S. Representative from Maryland, confirmed that he nominated Andrés for the award, the winner of which will be announced next October.

Andrés is more than deserving of the honor: His nonprofit organization World Central Kitchen, which he founded after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, has empowered countless people around the world. Most recently, he's been in the news for providing millions of meals to communities existing everywhere from Indonesia to California in the wake of devastating natural disasters.
Earlier this year, Andrés received the James Beard Foundation's Humanitarian of the Year award, which is "given to an individual or organization working in the realm of food who has given selflessly and worked tirelessly to better the lives of others and society at large."
