In its fourth year, the SouthBites™ Trailer Park will host 14 restaurants with food running the gamut from doughnuts to lobster rolls. Of course, there will also be barbecue. Kerlin BBQ, "homegrown in East Austin," was "named one of America's finest multiple times," according to the SouthBites™ website. Portland's wacky and wonderful Salt & Straw ice cream will also be available, and you can wash everything down with a green juice, naturally.
Entry to the trailer, which will be open from March 11 to 19, is free to SXSW registrants and the general public. See the full list of vendors here.
SouthBites™ also holds a dinner party series you won't want to miss. Enrique Olvera of Cosme and Paul Qui of his eponymous restaurant will host a dinner on March 13. Ludo Lefebvre of Trois Mec, Alex Stupak of Empellón and Paul Qui (as the Austin rep) will throw a dinner on March 14. And José Andrés will do a dinner with ThinkFoodGroup on March 15.
You can buy tickets for the dinners here.
While you're stuffing your face, remember you can also feed your mind with SouthBites™ Convergence Track, which runs from March 12 to 14. There, you'll find a series of panels and discussions featuring chefs, filmmakers and food enthusiasts ranging from José Andrés to Danny Meyer.
It's all about endurance at an event like SXSW, so plan your meals—and your bites—accordingly.
