Loteria Grill's Tamarind Margarita

Tamarind Margarita, adapted from Jimmy Shaw
  • 1 lime wedge, for rimming, plus 1⁄2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Tajin fruit seasoning (available at Mexican markets) for rimming Ice
  • 1 1⁄2 ounces reposado tequila
  • 1⁄2 ounce Cointreau or other triple sec
  • 1⁄2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 ounce tamarind syrup
  1. Wet the rim of a rocks glass with the lime wedge and coat it with the Tajin fruit seasoning. Fill the glass with ice.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, simple syrup and tamarind syrup and shake well. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass and serve.
