Milwaukee Brewers Fans Can Now Enjoy Beer Made On-Site

For many, a quintessential part of watching a baseball game is enjoying an ice-cold beer or two. For Milwaukee Brewers fans, this experience has now been taken to the next level. People who attend games at American Family Field can now purchase beer brewed on-site at the stadium, per a statement sent to Tasting Table.

J. Leinenkugel's Barrel Yard opened a few months ago in March and features a bar and restaurant with great views of the field. But the real star of the show is the three-barrel system that Pilot Brewer Corrine Georges has been using to brew specialty flavors just for the park. This week, those beers were tapped for the first time, and guests can start enjoying both the Double Play IPA and the Lead Off Lager.

The Lead Off Lager is light and citrusy, dry hopped with Citra hops and exhibiting flavors of tropical fruit. In the Double Play IPA, you will detect delicious aromas like grapefruit and fruit candy. It's brewed with Citra hops but then dry hopped with Idaho Gem and El Dorado hops.

The Milwaukee beer legacy

The Milwaukee Brewers baseball team gets its name from Milwaukee's association with the beer brewing industry. Brewing giants like Pabst, Miller, and others all started here in the 1800s, so it makes sense that fans of the baseball team started asking for a house-brewed beer at the games. These first beers became available on June 6 and are going fast, but there will be more to follow.

Even though Leinenkugel's brewery is in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the barrel yard brewing system is run by Georges, exclusively. This gives her the creative freedom to follow her brewing instincts while also gaining inspiration from the baseball park and the fans. Leinenkugel's has been brewing beer for over 150 years, making German-inspired brews that are a unique embodiment of Wisconsin. This new chapter in its history is sure to please Leinie's drinkers and Brewers fans alike.
