Shake Shack Releases 3 New Lemonade Flavors For Summer

While Shake Shack might be inextricably linked to satisfying smash burgers and creamy shakes, it has also got some serious lemonade game. And now that summer's heat is here, Shake Shack is stepping up that game, adding three lemonade flavors that'll help you stay cool as the mercury rises. Returning to the menu are fan favorites, Strawberry Lemonade and Mango Passionade, as well as a brand new addition, Dragonfruit Pomegranate Lemonade. All three beverages are made with Shake Shack's classic lemonade and real fruit. And you best hit up your local Shake Shack soon, as these seasonal lemonades are a limited-time offer.

Additionally, customers who need a bit of a boost can augment their lemonade order with the addition of natural caffeine. For the first time, Shake Shack is giving customers the option to perk up their lemonades and other beverages with an energy boost syrup made with Coffeeberry Energy, Green Coffee Extract, Ashwagandha, Guarana and Ginseng — and no artificial ingredients.

Other new additions

The three summer lemonades follow Shake Shack's winter offerings, Sunset Lemonade with Meyer lemon and orange, Pomegranate Sweet Basil Lemonade, and Blood Orange Lemonade with Key lime. The winter lemonades were made with real fruit and herbs added to the classic lemonade base, as well.

Shake Shack's classic lemonade is already an impressive beverage by fast food standards as it is made with real lemon juice and actual cane sugar. The lemonade can be further augmented, year-round, with the addition of Harney & Sons iced tea, which is brewed fresh daily, for what it calls a "Fifty/Fifty." There is also a not-so-secret, off-menu boozy beverage. Customers who order a "shandy" at Shake Shack will get a lemonade mixed with Brooklyn Brewing beer for a refreshing take on a classic.

This news comes after Shake Shack made headlines with some other new menu items that run counter to its meat-focused reputation. The Veggie Shack line features vegetarian and vegan versions of beloved classics. The Veggie Shack burger features mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa, topped with American cheese, crispy onions, pickles, and ShackSauce. Veggie Shack items debuted in early May in select stores, and we'd argue it would make the perfect pairing for any of the summer lemonade offerings.
